Last Blog of 2010

Here we go again the ending of 2010. Time really flies. Not realizing that I have actually been working in Singapore for a month now. Almost 8 weeks has past since I came back from the UK. It feels like I have just left the UK for a very short period relatively and if you ask me do you miss England or is there anything you miss about the UK? I can tell you that apart from my beloved aunties and uncle and my bunch of good friends, the only thing I am really missing would be the cheap pints. Yes, the cheap pints! The reason there's no other thing is because, as some of you would have realize that the economic condition in the UK is almost at the bottom since WWII and the weather has absolutely been the worst over in the past 40 years. Tax is capped at minimum 20% and national insurance contribution is at 11%. Total deduction from your salary is at 31 % per month. Where does all this money goes to? It often goes to the people who do not deserve them through the government's generous welfare system. Do I get the same kind of benefit? No. Also the UK government will increase the VAT to 20% on 4th January 2011 which makes everything become more expensive. So you can imagine what it is like.

Now talking about the entire 2010, I am remembering how things have been for me since the beginning of the year. First thing that came to my mind was my effort of trying to stay in the UK for a little longer for one reason and it did not went well plus it gave me months of stress especially the last few months before I came home. I had lost control of the direction in my life and I felt I was stuck in a deep dark hole and no one was able to help me. I guess my mom is the one who truly understood how my feeling was at that point. Because of this issue I have missed many exciting trips around Europe. Also like the chinese proverb "Tao tao pung jiok hark" meaning when you are just starting to have bad luck, it will start a chain reaction of bad things happening. Simple things like missing my connecting train while having to drag my broken luggage bag and running around for information. Anyhow, thing has its own way to work out and here I am working in Singapore.

Next thing that came to my mind is I consider myself a lucky man relatively. Reason is because I am healthy. One of the people working on the plant where I used to was ran over by a crane, his body was smashed till flat. Another person was knocked down by truck in that area while another one was electrocuted. They were all dead. One of my friend had a fatal accident while having a short holiday back in his home country. Another of my friends had a brain tumor which causing part of her body malfunction. Thank god she is okay now. Another person whom I know having breast cancer which has got not much time left. My ex-boss's dad is and his wife had a miscarriage. It all happens in 2010. And here I am living healthily. So I consider myself a lucky man.

Since it will be a whole new year tomorrow, let 2010 washes away all the bad things and may 2011 brings peace, health and happiness to everyone.

The friendly idiot.

There was this idiot who sometimes trying to undermined me when I was in the UK. These kind of people are really having weird philosophy or should I say they are just some stubborn sh*t with their stupid ideas which they think are right. Well of course it cannot be justified just by my own opinion. Like I used to say, when things not going right within that circle of friends, if the problem is not with me and it is not with you either then it must be the problem with the third person. And still this third person thinks that he has the support of the entire group and takes no advice from others. Yet he complains why not much of his friends in the UK appreciate what he has done for them and why no one treat him the same like he does to others. Anyhow, at least I know the problem is not with me.

Oh yeah before I forgot, this idiot conned his own parents to fund him studying in the UK and money for him to buy share in the stock market. But this lucky idiot actually made some money!
