Success or Failure?

Now that I have been working for about 3 months...It just makes me wondering whether what should I achieve in 5 years time. Shall I return to my home country or shall I just remain here. Or may be I should go to Australia which I am desperate to go to at the moment . Not that I am entirely lost, it's just that I doubt whether I will end up being unemployed and then it creates all sorts of problems similar to those in a movie called "Money-Not-Enough".

Workload for the time beng is okay. Handling two projects at the same time but I guess it is nothing compare to my senior engineers who are managing 3 to 5 project each at a time. I must admit that all my senior engineers are very good engineers. Salute for their amazing experiences and thank them for teaching me bit by bit of those engineering stuffs.

I have completed my first ever project a month ago and it was pretty amazing to have learnt all sorts of industrial engineering things which I have got not a clue when I was in Uni. Lucky enough to have some programming skills remained somewhere in my brain, the HMI designed by me is fully functional. As a result, the client award my company with another two similar projects or put it this way, indirectly the client is going to give the company more business. :)

At the moment, I am about to finish phase one of my current project. For phase one, I have done all sorts of electrical design and drawings while compiling the part list which I guessed made my senior engineer a little pissed off cause those drwaings were way off the standard one. To be honest I have got no idea of the ideal way of doing it at the begining until he taught me the proper way to do it. And now I have to order those d*mn expensive tools which mainly comes from the US and so it is going to take a d*mn long time reach England.

Entering the phase two of the current project meaning it's time to do software design again which is my favourite! Hope this one goes in well too then I'll be satisfied with my performance for the time being.

A rather small accomplishment.

Yay!!! 2 weeks ago I have got the certificate and been driving to site for system commissioning and now I have got the card. It's not a big deal as I have already got a driving license from my home country but it is a rather small accomplishment really. It is handy when I need to get to get myself to sites or should I say anywhere I like without having the troubles of boarding the always-have-problems train or the "wonderful" weather of England. A rather funny card I received on the day I passed my test. Thanks. What's next after getting a vehicle driving license? Quite obvious really.

18 November

Today is definitely one the most memorable day so far. Why? Cause the dumb me make a mistake of remembering the wrong birthday of her. Been feeling guilty the whole day as I just do not understand how careless can I be. Well, although I am forgiven but I just couldn't forgive myself. I thought I have another ten days from the 18th to complete the website I am making for her and the parcel should reach by that time as well but somehow I just screwed up everything by remembering the wrong date of her birthday. It just made me feel that the effort of providing a memorable birthday is all worthless at this point.

Anyhow, according to her, it was a "Memorable" birthday which makes me wondering she was definitely not okay with my stupid mistake. A day earlier she was like not really care to talk to me cause I did not wish her anything or say something which I am supposed to say. Again I am stupid enough for just asking her what was the problem and not realizing that it was her birthday. Now that I thought of it...I really do feel that I am a big failure as a partner.

Alright, let me just describe what I have done on the day earlier, Monday 17th. As usual, woke up at 8 and reached office at 9. As all my electrical design drawings were overdue for 2days, I was really busy rushing them to my client and worse still, my senior engineer told me that we were going to have the design review postponed to Thursday due to his personal reason. Just for your information, design reviews are being done on-site which is about 90mins drive from Sheffield which means I have to get up very early. That was definitely not a good idea cause I have to work on Wednesday night so I was forced to swap my Wednesday shift with Steven.

By the way, I worked untill half eight on Monday so I was truly exhausted the next day. Finally, I got all my drawings done and sent to the client on Tuesday, 18th Nov so I got home early with the thought of sleeping early. To my suprise, I didn't remember that I have got the ticket for a football match, England U21 vs Czech Rep U21 untill my mates let me know. So I went for the match. Not realizing that the 18th of November has passed on the Eastern side of the Earth, I was having my laksa at a chinese restaurant.

The worst thing happened when I received two e-mails from her. Quite sure that the content of e-mails are pretty obvious to any reader. My first impression was, "Is this some kind of jokes?" Then when I confirmed that it wasn't a joke...I trully felt so sorry. Anyway, I wished you a very happy belated birthday, MS a.k.a BB
